The Big Red Car

October 27th, 2008

This was my first attempt at a Wiggles birthday cake - the Big Red Car. It was great fun to do. Of course, I did forget a few things, especially Murray’s nose! My daughter spotted that one.

Pink Hippos for Wedding Favors

October 14th, 2008

These are my latest hippos. They are vanilla shortbread, with pink fondant, pink royal icing outline and a little blue flower on their tail. They are for little wedding favors. The bride wants to give them to the children who attend the wedding. I think that is really sweet.

Happy Birthday Little Pirate

October 13th, 2008

It’s Ben’s birthday. He is only three and couldn’t decide on what cake he wanted. So we went with a pirate. This one is based on a skull and crossbones in one of Debbie Brown’s books. Her cakes are really fantastic - she is so creative. I did a course with her a few months ago and she was just inspiring and clever.

Skull and Crossbone cookies

August 27th, 2008

I took these photos for my shop and, since I had the cookies already made, I took some with me to the markets on the weekend, along with a whole lot of other cookies. The skull and crossbone ones went really quickly. I think they would be my choice as well - big with lots of icing.

I have been trying to add a few more cookies that I thought boys would be interested in. I have lots of hearts and butterflies and flowers. So apart from the skull and crossbones (which were mainly bought by girls so I shouldn’t stereotype!) I made some great rocket ship biscuits. I am waiting on a delivery of a sherrif’s badge cutter - can’t wait to try that one out.

Children’s Cookies

August 17th, 2008

I have just finished a big batch of mixed kid’s biscuits. I am really trying not to eat too many but it is really difficult. So far, I have only eaten one. Hopefully I won’t eat amy more - will power. The biscuits are vanilla with vanilla icing. They took ages to do but they look good. I have some more cutters arriving in the next week or so, so I will be making more biscuits then.

These ones are my favourites. Coloured flowers - simple and bright.

Since I ate one I really couldn’t stop the kids could I?

another fairy birthday cake

August 15th, 2008

My latest cake was following a request for a brown skinned fairy. I really love the skin colour on this cake. I think it is very sweet for a first birthday!

Decorated wedding cookies

August 14th, 2008

I got through making the wedding cookies for my friend’s bridal shower. They were a bigger job than I thought they would be, but I was happy with the way they turned out.

Iced Wedding Biscuits

August 5th, 2008

I have been doing some biscuit making lately and have decided to send some biscuits to a friend’s bridal shower, which I can’t get to. These biscuits are really for weddings but I wanted to try some wedding biscuits. My favourite is the wedding cake but I think I will go with the white dress.

Sweet and Flour stickers - at last

July 28th, 2008

I have been waiting on these stickers for so long. I ordered them from a site on etsy.com, which is a fantastic site if you want to buy anything handmade. They have taken such a long time to get here. The woman doing them forgot about them twice! Then she mixed mine with someone else’s order - luckily realising in time. Hence, I’m definitely looking for a new sticker person - does anyone know one?

I also got my flyers back about a fortnight ago. I waited a whle for those as well. When I got them back, there was a spelling mistake. The suburb I’m based in was spelt wrong - a bit of a mistake I can’t really get away with. It does pay however, to complain and I got another lot sent to me (which was really great).

Thomas the Tank Engine

July 28th, 2008

This is my first attempt at a Thomas the Tank Engine cake. It was for a third birthday party. The birthday boy was very pleased.

I made a few little vanilla shortbread train biscuits to match.
